VT - Double-O-Cuke (Part 3)

[Double-O-Cuke approaches Double-O-Caterpillar at the counter.]

Double-O-Cuke: I was wondering where you were. I mean, it was kinda hard to find you,
what with you being tiny and all.

Double-O-Caterpillar: Understood. I was wondering when you were going to show up, and
boy am I happy to see you here.

Double-O-Cuke: Likewise. And as long as I'm here, I'm feeling in the mood for a drink
right about now.

[Double-O-Cuke faces the counter, where a Restauranteur (played by Archibald Asparagus)
comes up to him.]

Restauranteur: May I help you, sir? Can I get you anything?

Double-O-Cuke: Root beer, please. Shaken, not stirred.

Restauranteur: Actually, it's not a good idea to shake root beer. Because the force of
shaking causes carbonation to build up from inside the bottle or can, which therefore,
will result in a big mess once the bottle or can is opened after shaking.

Double-O-Cuke: Oh, well, in that case, then not shaken, but not stirred.

Restauranteur: Whatever you say, sir.

[In the background, a male carrot chef is shaking up a can of root beer, and when he
opens it, he ends up getting sprayed by the root beer, due the build-up of carbonation
caused by the shaking. Double-O-Cuke faces Double-O-Caterpillar once again.]

Double-O-Cuke: So, Double-O-Caterpillar, I heard that there's a singer performing here
at this place. Goes by the name of Pauline Parsnip, I believe?

Double-O-Caterpillar: Ah, yes, Pauline Parsnip! Yes, you are correct. She likes to come
here every Wednesday night to sing in front of everyone.

Double-O-Cuke: Hmmm. I guess that about sums it up. And speaking of 'everyone', I also
heard that agents Double-O-Jimmy and Double-O-Jerry would also be here as well. Yet, I
don't see them. Where could they be?

[Before Double-O-Caterpillar can answer, the sounds of pushing and yelling are heard,
which catches the attention of Double-O-Cuke and Double-O-Caterpillar. Camera whip pans
over to the entrance of the Cafe Jardin, before it is revealed that Double-O-Jimmy (played
by Jimmy Gourd) and Double-O-Jerry (played by Jerry Gourd) are both stuck in the front
door of the restaurant, which everyone is surprised to see.]

Double-O-Caterpillar: There they are, Double-O-Cuke. And I can see that they're fashionably
late again, as always. Heh, they've probably got a Licence to Fill.

Double-O-Cuke: Well, I guess that really gives a whole new meaning to 'sticking around',
doesn't it? *chuckles*

[Double-O-Caterpillar gives a look to Double-O-Cuke after that. Several carrot valets go
up to Double-O-Jimmy and Double-O-Jerry and use some crowbars to pry them loose from the
door, which frees them.]

Double-O-Jimmy: *sighs* Next time, they oughta make those doors a little bit bigger.

[Double-O-Jimmy and Double-O-Jerry start to approach the counter, then become surprised
when they see Double-O-Cuke with Double-O-Caterpillar.]

Double-O-Jimmy: Double-O-Cuke?! Is that you?!

Double-O-Cuke: The one and only. How many cucumber secret agents do you know at SAS, the
Secret Agent Society?

Double-O-Jimmy: Fair point, I guess that's what I get for asking such a ridiculous question.

Double-O-Jerry: Not quite so ridiculous, though.

[Cut to backstage, where we see a female Parsnip with bright cream-colored skin and wearing
a golden gown, while she is accompanied by her friend, a female Rutabaga.]

Rutabaga: This is the big night, Pauline. Everyone has come here to the Cafe Jardin to hear
you sing! I'm sure that you'll be great.

Pauline: I know, Rita. I feel greatly honored that my singing talents are adored by everyone,
but somehow, I can't help if I feel that I've broken my promise not to overexert myself with
my singing.

Rita: I don't think you're overexerting yourself, I think you're doing really great.

Pauline: Rita Rutabaga. *chuckles*

[Rita then notices that it's almost time.]

Rita: It's almost time, Pauline!

Pauline: Already? Well, I guess I better go on out there, should I?

[Pauline starts to approach the stage after that. Scene switches to back with Double-O-Cuke,
just as he has gotten a glass of root beer from the Restauranteur.]

Restauranteur: Here you go, sir. Your root beer, not shaken but not stirred.

Double-O-Cuke: Thank you, my good sir.

[Double-O-Cuke takes the glass of root beer and starts to drink, at the same time that Double-
O-Jimmy and Double-O-Jerry have also ordered a bunch of food, while Double-O-Caterpillar has
some leaves.]

Announcer: Ladies and gentlemen, performing live at the Cafe Jardin tonight, here's Pauline
Parsnip and Rita Rutabaga!

[Everyone applauds and cheers as Pauline appears onstage, followed afterwards by Rita.]

Double-O-Cuke: So, that's Pauline Parsnip, huh?

Double-O-Caterpillar: She's even more beautiful than I remember.

[Pauline then takes the microphone and prepares to sing.]

(Song plays about being intelligent and beautiful, all while also talking about not having
to worry about overexerting oneself in what they do.)

[After the song ends, everyone applauds and cheers once again for Pauline and Rita's performance,
as they both bow. However, the lights suddenly go out, much to everyone's surprise.]
