I'm not dead yet, just wish I were sometimes!
My muse has buggered off and I decided to take a break from doing silversmithing for a semester. I felt like I was wasting studio time and not really getting anything accomplished.
Still frustrated with the chaos in my "offudio" (office/studio). I put together a shelf and didn't notice that one of the dividers wasn't hooked on it's dowels so now everything has to come off in order to be fixed and then all put back together. That's more energy and give a f&*k than I have available currently.
So, still not organised enough to just "get supplies" to do stuff out without a hassle and creating a mes
I received a letter in the mail (on the first of April no less), saying I was the Mohawk College recipient of the 2011 Ontario Crafts Council Design Award.
My silver instructor Amy, recommended me in a letter, a copy of which I received along with the congratulatory letter from the Mohawk College Visual Arts Programme Manager. The letter was *glowing* and made me blush fiercely.
I will receive a one year membership with the OCC.
If my instructor hadn't been acting a little loopy last Monday in class (she knew then that I'd won and sidled up to me with a huge cheesy grin, about which I asked what was up with her, and she responded "Nuthin'"
Wow, May was the last time I checked in here. Not that anyone misses me here, as most of my friends are on LJ or FB. I'm still creating, or trying to anyway.
This past weekend I went to CTN Animation Expo in Burbank, California. And I have to say, I love it there. I want to go back when I have far more time to explore and do other things other than 4 days of con stuff and one day of exploration. Made it to the Magic Castle, a rather ritzy and exclusive magicians guild. I have a friend who escorted myself and my best friend through various magic shows and it was a hoot.
