Traditional and digital art featuring canon (from the show) characters belong in the "Canon Characters" folder.
Traditional and digital art featuring original characters go into the "Original Characters" folder; a picture with canon and original characters goes here.
Costume pieces/construction and makeup belong in the "Costuming and Makeup" folder.
Pixel art and real-life dolls belong in the "Dolling" folder.
Fan fiction belongs in the "Fan Fiction" folder.
Art that doesn't fit in any of the folders (e.g. stamps, icons, crossovers) belongs in the "Miscellaneous" folder.
The "Featured" folder is reserved for contests and various other activities we hold.
If your art overlaps in two areas, put it in the main area.
There is a limit of five deviations per day, but try to keep quality over quantity - don't submit for the sake of submitting.
Submissions that are rough sketches, very unfinished works, on lined paper, have little effort (coloring and/or lines), are not cropped or cleaned up in properly (e.g. the image is hard to see; the BG is messy and uncleaned; you can see the edges and rings of the sketchpad), are extremely disproportionate, will be rejected. Put all of your heart into your piece! ♥
Don't submit your deviation more then once.
No tracing or copying allowed; keep it original.
Mature content is welcome on the lower end of the spectrum, but keep it work safe. If you are unsure, please note us.
No flaming, keep the environment happy!
Anyone can suggest a favorite, but make sure it's in the proper category.
If you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to ask!
“You’re a freak. You don’t deserve to live.”
I woke up gasping. Another nightmare. Every time I closed my eyes, they reminded me. Through them, I relived every night of torture, every lash, cut and punch. It felt real. It always did.
I wished I was dead.
Life as a prisoner of Macavity was never destined to be carefree and luxurious. But ever since Macavity found out about my magic, my life as a prisoner of his had been a living hell. Every day, he'd torture me endlessly in hopes of getting me to give up my magic and transfer it to him. But I never gave it up.
Day and night, he’d pull me out of my cell and beat me. He’d inflict amounts of pain I didn't even think were possible. And it just kept on coming.
You know, eventually, I don’t think he wanted my magic anymore.
I think he just wanted to break me.
Eventually, I managed to escape. I ran. I ran as far away as I possibly could.
The Jellicles found me. They tried to
ChangesWhen something gets pointed out to you, the glass shatters, and you’re suddenly aware.
Aware of everything that’s happened in the past, and of everything that could possibly happen in the future.
It eats at you, threatens your sleep. Sometimes it’s so intense it renders you useless and hollow. Suddenly your every thought is dependent on that one thing. A habit. An idiosyncrasy.
That’s how Munkustrap felt the day Demeter told him that she was pregnant.
Like his world had turned itself inside out.
Suddenly, every thought, every action was focused on the kit in Demeter’s belly.
His mate seemed ridiculously fragile now.
He found himself worried about hurting Demeter in ways he never used to. He starting sleeping with his arm up high, around her ribs instead of her stomach, worried that the extra weight would be bad for the growing kit. He even stopped pulling her against him when they hugged, paranoid that pressing themselves too close together would
InsecuritiesIt wasn’t a fact that was well known around the tribe, but Munkustrap suffered from days where he couldn’t leave his den, spending it locked in a haze of depression and self-doubt. He spent so much time and energy on ensuring that his tribe was kept safe and happy, and no one, except for his mate, even saw the need to watch out for him and his needs.
Sometimes, he couldn’t keep it up.
Couldn’t face dealing with everyone and their problems, no matter how big or small.
Couldn’t deal with the constant threat of Macavity.
Couldn’t even summon up the energy to leave his nest, let alone the den.
On those days, when Munkustrap didn’t show up to take over from him, Alonzo would quietly get another tom to take a watch. If neither Munkustrap nor his mate appeared in the courtyard, Tugger would make a snide comment about them having a private rendezvous, much to the amusement of the other cats. Jenny and Jelly would quietly watch over the entrance of thei
