Clover is basically a child-like enthusiast of discovery. She’s usually in a good mood even in times of war because she’s normally focused on the positive learning aspect of life and its events. She’s talkative and eager to share with others what she finds and what she knows, many times trying to involve them in her little adventures against their will. What others have to say about something she doesn't know is also something she takes into account, often finding herself shooting out questions, as many as she can. The way she searches for knowledge on her own is mostly through experiments and reading, but the first is her main motivation. Her 'experiments' never go into too much depth since so far they have been simple, but if given the chance she will keep it going and forget her surroundings for a moment. They can happen as a sudden thought appears or through logical planning, putting pieces of a puzzle together for a better approach. She values both physical experimentation of probabilities as well as mental ones, finding some moments where she's quiet and focused on the outside but a jumbling mess of thoughts inside. Although she seems like a happy go lucky yet logical type of person, she can easily crawl to her shell and become an emotional mess when facing hostility, especially when alone. In situations of high stress if she has the bit of time she needs to regain control of her emotions she will be cautious even if still afraid for her life and others’ as well.
Sheltered and having an almost non changing environment regarding people, she can be clueless to her peers’ emotional changes unless they’re obvious. Her behaviour is sometimes unfitting of an adult, feeling like everything is against her at times she almost throws tantrums whenever things don’t go her way. This childish behaviour can cause quite the trouble for others and herself as she can be stubborn and ignore exhaustion so she can get to her goal for example. But at the same time she can forget about the bad things around because of it, unknowingly having a innocent energy around her. Either being happy or sad she doesn’t have a filter for her emotions, whatever she feels is what she shows and sometimes it’s really difficult to break her out of her state depending on how intense it is.
Chamomile was a normal child at school until the war started. She became homeschooled by her father who was a scientist but he held back on involving her until much later. When war caught up to them, father and daughter fled their home to a safer place- Chamomile was never really told what happened to her mother, only that she would never see her again.
After a couple of years, her father finally included her in his research as an assistant and nothing more. The girl was still very excited to help, figuring things out on her own and trying to study for herself. One day, as she went out to look for samples to help her father's research the location she was on was hit by a gas bomb- showing her the true colours of war that were always hidden from her since young.
She was finally an adult and started to see things change but it was too late. Failing to notice her father's break down years back, she now saw the result of it. The man had lost the passion he had on his original research and shifted his focus to the current situation, forcing her to change her focus as well to adapt the new view. However, Chamomile didn't agree and tried her best to show him his original research was still promising, she gained quite a bit from this but the man she knew never came back.
Defeated and scared of the way they lived she decided it was time to leave and be on her own, wondering if she would survive.
One day, Chamomile woke up to everything they had packed into boxes. Confused she looked for her parents but only found her father looking panicked, something she had never seen before- he lived as “cool and collected”, this time, he was the complete opposite. Without much of an explanation, the young teen was forced to move the boxes along with her dad “there’s no time” was all he said to her and she obliged hurriedly packing while looking around for the one person that was missing, she kept asking her father but she only managed to get silence as a response. The moving truck was already there and soon they were on the road, just the two of them. Everything about this was out of Chamomile's comprehension, filling her mind with questions, not only her mother wasn’t with them at that moment but through the entire journey, she was held close by her father- something that didn’t happen often, it was like he was terrified she would just disappear into thin air. The girl didn't have the heart to question him any further and waited in silence until they arrived to wherever they were going.
After days of traveling they arrived to a tiny apartment, both exhausted. After settling in, she was finally filled in with what happened, a bit of sugarcoating was needed thinking about his wife. She was told there was a war and that it was bad so they should be careful always. What happened to her mother was still a mystery to her but to that, the man told her she wouldn't be seeing her mother anymore. Of course upon hearing this the young girl started to cry, filled with questions and throwing a tantrum. Days passed and she came to accept it in the end- Her father's last words about the subject being "if there's ever danger, run." she still didn't fully understand it but she kept those words in her mind from that point onwards.
For years they lived in almost complete isolation, having others away in a time of healing and focusing their all into research, Chamomile was involved but only as an 'assistant'. While her father stayed mostly at home, she would leave the house to get whatever he needed, including anything he could use to test on. She was never fully educated on this research but she was always curious about it, never ending questions kept flying to her father and he usually answered but never to the extent where she was happy with the answer, so he always sent her out to get samples. She studied on her own but field work was one of her favourite things- at home the atmosphere was always tense so she always loved exploring the outside herself, explore on her own. One of those days, as she was outside, there was a certain area caught her interest- but curiosity killed the cat and she got herself in the wrong place at the wrong time as that place soon had a gas bomb dropped on it, ending up in Chamomile getting caught up in dangerous gas. She remembered the words that her father said and ran home. When she arrived she collapsed to the floor, terrified and out of breath- was this the war? She had seen the effects of it whenever she left the house but never was she in the middle of an attack. Luckily the only physical alteration from this was an appearance of some difficulty breathing at times, and mentally she became scared.Maybe it was the war, or everything that had happened, but things began to change. Her father started to send her to places outside more and more often, seemingly not caring for her condition. When she finally gathered the courage to ask him he replied that he had changed the subject of his research. It took a while for her to process it but he continued explaining how his past research had no meaning anymore, there were no results, so he shifted his work to something more- profitable. He had turned his back to all he believed in, apparently he had reached rock bottom without his daughter realizing. Chamomile was an adult now, and seeing her father change so much broke her heart, there had to be a way to bring back his passion right? She tried countless times, making experiments of her own volition but everything failed to get him back. Her attempts brought her more knowledge and she had grown quite a bit from it, but her initial goal wasn't met. The way he was living became extremely toxic- forcing her to get him more dangerous samples and having her experiment on chemicals for him. The whole atmosphere was just swallowing her whole and she had to break free, she didn't want to live like that, it was scary.
With that in mind she packed her things and left- it was what she needed to do. She didn't know what the next step for her was, but she tried to keep in mind everything she was taught, hopefully that way she could survive on her own.
