Hello and welcome to Spring! It’s your favorite Kat here with another journal for our Spring Nostalgia activity in @Traditionalists 😺 Each week for the rest of Spring, we’ll share a creative theme and reward our favorite submissions. Good luck! 🌸 

DreamCore

Spring is here, the flowers have bloomed, and everyone is dreaming of longer days. DreamCore captures a sense of childlike curiosity: surreal environments filled with nostalgia; floating objects; open, empty spaces. It’s like a déjà vu moment you can almost feel 😌 For this Spring Nostalgia activity, let’s daydream about Spring’s past and create some traditional art with a DreamCore feeling.  

You are free to draw whatever gives you nostalgia about Spring in the theme of DreamCore. For me, colored bubbles being blown into the sky reminds me of balloons at carnivals or clouds at sunset and renews my sense of child-like wonder. • 🙏 Please only submit images of paintings, sketches, drawings, etc. for this engagement and in this group. No AI assisted image, digital creations, et al. allowed, only photos of your in real life artworks.   

• 🥳 Add your deviation to our Contest gallery for rewards consideration for this engagement. Add it as a comment below to share your creations with fellow group members. 

• 🗓️ You have 2 chances to win this @Traditionalist activity! For the 1st round, submit your deviation by Sunday May 10, 2026; for the 2nd round, submit your deviation by Saturday June 20, 2026.

• 🏆 Finalists will be selected at the sole discretion of @Traditionalists group admin and other DeviantArt Ambassadors; all decisions are non-negotiable. Reward recipients will receive:

  • 1st round rewarded week of May 10: One (1) submission will be selected to receive 500 DA points, a Hype Badge, and a journal feature at the end of the engagement; additional entires will receive a Quartz badge at the discretion of group admin and will also be featured in a future round-up journal. 

  • 2nd round rewarded week of June 21: One (1) submission not previously selected will receive 500 DA points, a Hype Badge, and a journal feature at the end of the engagement.
