I'm still not used to people acknowledging that BLiNX even existed.  These mentions always weird me out a bit.

Most time when BLiNX is mentioned by people by Phil Spencer it's usually a joke. If he actually spoke about it seriously then I'd be really surprised.

Completely unrelated to Phil Spencer but I thought this was cool. I don't know if you know but the platinum edition of Blinx: The Time Sweeper was modified to be easier than the original (cheaper outfits, bosses take less hits, placement of trash and enemies...). I didn't know this prior but Blinx347 (cofeman347 on DA) submitted a document on the fansite outlining all the difference between the games. You can read it here: blinxthetimesweeper.weebly.com…

...well, damn, this feels like a thing we should've always known about.  That's pretty notable.  Seems to imply very few platinum copies where sold, though.  Nobody ever complained about cat medals not being where walkthroughs said they would be?  I'm kind of feeling that we need further confirmation from other regions, because it's feeling like it could've been something changed in the localization.  The only footage I know of this version of the game is from Mexico (here and here, though I watched the full second playthrough a long time ago and apparently didn't make any mental note of that Tom Tom not appearing in 1-2, which I'm kicking myself over), which is making me think it might just be the Latin American release of the platinum edition.  I'm quite sure my edition isn't platinum (has no box, but I don't think the disc has the platinum graphic on it), so we still have the North American and PAL versions to check up on.

And why the hell couldn't someone with the platinum edition have uploaded all the outfits so I didn't have to spend hours grinding for them?  Bloody hell.  30,000G down to 1,000G.  Kind of hard not to feel proud for having beat the "harder" version, though.  Just feels wrong not having a Tom Tom in the second level, too.

I did some background reading. The Platinum Hits are a range of games that have sold a considerable number of units. They are re-released at a set price of around $20. Blinx was put in the Games in Platinum Family Hits series, being appropriate for all ages.

Because they are a re-release, games can be modified to have additional content, DLC included, game tweaks and bug fixes. Looks like Artoon made a significant number of changes when given the opportunity to fix it. As described by Blinx347's document, they went through the entire game adjusting small things which ultimately makes the game a little easier and better in game design (1000G for outfits is a way more acceptable price).

Blinx347 told me he wanted to make videos of this information but doesn't have the proper recording equipment, which was why he sent it to me.

I'd believe all that, I just find it incredibly strange that we've only been able to confirm this for a single (very abnormal, when it comes to localization) region.  Latin America tended not to even get localizations in the first place back in that day, because they used NTSC like North America and thus just got the North American releases instead of the PAL releases that actually had Spanish included.  Seeing a localized version like the Platinum Hits version is very rare, as it would be a special edition of the game specifically for that region, which allows for the possibility of that one region being the only one with changes being made as a part of the localization effort.  I'm struck by the idea that no guide I've ever read has ever mentioned receiving complaints that enemies are different, that cat medal locations are different, or that shop prices are different.  I certainly want this information to be shown wherever relevant, but I want to ensure that it's correct, as well.
