Story: Fox would be a racer, there was no doubt in anyone’s mind that he’d be a horse of the track. Fox was the kind of horse that was not only bred for racing but loved to do it, Amalie always said that his love for running was in his heart. She had a few high-hopes horses that she never raced simply because it was obvious they didn’t enjoy it - Fox’s elder sister Julia coming to mind - however Fox clearly lived for Racing. Even as a baby he’d run around the paddock, as though play pretending he was already on the track.
So why sign him up for liberty? Surely she should be dedicating all available time to training him up for races and yes, she did dedicate a great deal more time to him than others out of blatant favouritism but the fact was that Fox was still a baby. He would remain a baby until his turned four and even them Amalie was sure he’d stay rather youthful in his manners. She wanted to take advantage of his youth to enter him in other classes than just Racing - not to misunderstand, of course, they were still going to enter the flat race here at White Blood Stables and, if Amalie had anything to say about it, blow everyone else out the water (after all, Ghost would certainly be watching and she’d be damned if she let her little prize win anything other than first on his Mother’s home turf) - and Halter and Liberty were simple and easy, Show-Off classes that she couldn’t not foresee Fox managing to mess up.
Liberty was indoors and with the lights beating down on him Fox looked like a star from a circus - all spotlights on him and a large arena for him to frolic in. She wondered how he’d react, since he’d never really been inside an indoor arena before. At first, he spent his time trotting around with his nose to the ground, smelling every inch. Amalie sighed, sure that he would drop to the sandy ground and roll, ruining all the hard work that had been put into making his white coat white. To her surprise - pleasant surprise - he suddenly squealed and, with the expression of a happy child, suddenly kicked into the air before charging all around the arena with tail held high and flowing behind him. He seemed to know that all eyes were on him and he basked in the attention, lifting his knees and shaking his head, showing off in all possible ways. Every single movement screamed ‘Hey! Look at me! Look how handsome I am!’
Amalie chuckled from the sidelines as her baby reared in the centre of the arena. Fox knew he was special, alright, and he clearly loved to impress.
