Fox often asks his Sire, Abyaz, what his mother was like, as the two had been friends. He’s heard the story of how they met and the what it was that made Abyaz start to like the mare - Ghost’s genuine interest in his two daughter’s, who had been the light of his life - and often asks what her secret was, what it was that enabled her to win races. Abyaz always told him it was her skill and talent plus her personality and whatever educated decision her humans made but Fox would keep asking. 

Eventually, Abyaz decided to tell him something Ghost had told him once. 

So, Son... you are the descendant of a Duck.
