I have been trying to create fractals using maya but I am new to all of this. Any Ideas?

As for fractals in Maya... This one was only renendered in Maya.
The fractal was generated by a home-brew Java program, surfaced in VTK, then output in .obj for importing into Maya.
That said.. I've got an iteration Mel script for Maya if your interested. Have you tried working with Mel?
