If you don't really care about rant-ish like stuff, and don't really read my manga, you may ignore this post. However, if you legit care about me and the future of my manga, please continue reading and maybe comment something to help with feedback and support.
So... here we are again. Rethinking manga choices. Even though I will have more slightly more money now than I did before, I'd still like to make a small profit off my manga because I think it's that good. At the same time (in regards to BROKEN anyways...) I have a subscriber base of at least 400 across the various platforms I upload on and those people seem to enjoy my manga. I'm also getting fed up with having a patreon and a ko-fi account at the same time, so I'll be keeping Patreon until the end of September 2019. I don't have any donators in patreon or ko-fi anyways. I want to get ko-fi gold, but I don't have anyone that wants to subscribe monthly. That being said, here's what I plan on doing. If you have any concerns or feedback to this, please feel free use the comment section.PATREON:
I'm keeping it up, but only for a year starting from October 1, 2018 to September 30, 2019. IF
I receive even 1 patron by the end of this 1 year term, I'll keep the patreon up and running until however long that 1 or more patron stays. If I get no one by the end of this term, I'll keep all public posts up, delete all patron ones, unpublish my tiers, and edit the descriptions to say almost nothing. I'll still have my creator account though, just in case someone sends me a note or email asking me to open patreon once again because they'd like to subscribe.KO-FI:
As much as I want ko-fi gold, it costs money. Usually I don't mind paying it out, but it's $6 a month, so as long as I don't have a request for monthly ko-fi payments from at least 1 donator, I'm just going to keep it at one time monthly payments. I am, however, going to make and try to make some digital goodies that I will send via email to those that donate that you'll up to once a month with a donation of $3. I'm going to try for something you can use as a wallpaper or print for a mini poster, obviously manga pages and such, maybe stickers you can download and print out for yourself. Something like that. I may even do this idea with just giving out my paypal address so you can have tiers like on Patreon, but they're not monthly.BROKEN:
I keep going to back to how great this manga looks and how hard I'm working on this story and such, and thinking I'm thinking I want to start charging for my manga. I plan on finishing and posting the first chapter entirely for free because it's a great way to see the style and see if you want to spend the money on it. After that, I'm going to just make the rest of the manga available on Medibang. After a suitable amount of time has passed and a reasonable amount of chapters have been drawn, I might start uploading chapters for free again. This is just kind of what I want to do, and sadly, that partner program is still out as I can't handle the workload and time amount to get it all done (plus the hand pains I've been getting lately...), so self selling is my best option. I'll actually be releasing the manga on Medibang in volumes, rather than in chapters, if it's all the same to you. BROKEN volumes will be 3 chapters plus a side story. I'll also be selling it in print as well, but when depends on preorders closer to the time I finish.BLOODY ROSE AND PRO-MANGA!:
I still plan on starting and finishing Bloody Rose, as it's just a one shot that I want to sell at my first convention that I still have to save up for, so that will be getting done, just slowly. As for PRO-Manga!, since I'll be selling BROKEN, it might be best to just focus on that right now, and take the time to plan this series instead. I plan of figuring out the whole story and scripts first, and then just slowly working on the manga volumes, because I'll just release it on Medibang that same way I'll be releasing BROKEN. PRO-Manga, however, won't be my top priority, and I don't plan on having to get it completed before my first convention.
So? Any thoughts?
I'm also sorry for the rant and stuff. Thanks for sticking with me! ^^
