************ UPDATE*******************

Wow, a DD? :excited: Thank you so much AngelYarn for suggesting and to Elandria for featuring :blowkiss: And thank you everyone for your kind and in some cases, not so kind words ;)

..........................................

Here is the long awaited Art Nouveau Tutorial for my artwork Iris that has taken me almost a good week to do :faint: Sorry guys, there won't be many tutorials, they are a lot of work and makes me appreciate all the artists who donate their time and effort to do these so much more! :phew:

Ok before you start, all stock images in the tutorial is from CAStock and from almudena-stock if you want to get the exact ones. Here are the thumbs for them:

Also this is a tutorial that assumes that you have some basic knowledge of Photoshop and how it works, and how to work in layers. I assume you have some vague concept at least about how to cut things out and how to use masks. If you don't know how to do any of these things, you need to find some beginner tutorials in Photoshop before you start or you'll get lost pretty easy.

I used Photoshop CS5, but any photoshop version should be able to do most of the commands in this tutorial.

If you come across something that is very unclear or misspelled, please inform me and i'll try to correct it.

Thank you to :iconbnspyrd: for the lovely border I used in the design of the tutorial itself, and many thanks to :iconalmudena-stock: for the beautiful model I used.

Hope you enjoy!!

Oh, and IF you make an artwork pretty much identical to the one in this tutorial (meaning using the stock i did for the tut) you need to credit me in the description of it when you upload it. If you make an art nouveau piece with completely different stock, look and feel you don't have to credit unless you want to. And don't forget to ALWAYS credit the stock owners you used and follow their individual rules!

Thanks a lot for the tutorial, it was pretty handy. Although my original stock image needed lots of work prior to the manipulation (lights and so on) I believe the final result is quite convincing. fav.me/dak2shq

although this is a brilliantly written tutorial, it is completely hard to follow for me as i am very visual and learn best by seeing it done.. i am more of a step 1. do this step 2. do this and so on so forth. I am sorry for making a complaint. or perhaps a more visual tutorial would be handy. Although I am trying I am doing this tutorial for school I hope it is okay.

Sorry if it can't help, hopefully you can find another tutorial that has more visual steps instead. Good luck :)

Well, it's alright I needn't try something so complicated for my lesson lol.... I am actually going to come back to this lesson please please i hope you were not offended by my comment. Your lesson was very well written, i think i wasn't understanding it due to my stress level and the feeling of being overwhelmed by the sheer art nouveau style. not your lesson.

Hello! I stumbled across this beautiful tutorial due to wanting to learn how to create Noveau styled art. Lo and behold this tutorial is more than I could have ever dreamed of.
I am having some difficulty following the directions though. I am still very new to Photoshop (hence the struggle) and would appreciate the help if you could spare the time.

Any assistance with the masking method on the drape would be most appreciated! I'm not sure if it's the skin tone bit I'm doing wrong which is setting off the whole thing, or if I'm just not pressing the right buttons. I think I've nailed the skin tone, even so, another explanation of your masking method would be super!

Thank you for making this and sharing it us, especially novices like me!

My pleasure. :) To be able to help I need to know a bit more specifically what part it is you want more help with. How to use masks differently than what is described or something else?
