Caught in a Storm

I had a sudden surge of inspiration last week with a character piece of Arlo standing in the city at night looking somber / melancholy / etc. I wanted to try more experimentation with composition, framing, story, etc... so I got to work. 

As I kept going, I thought maybe I could give him a cigarette for the piece, but Arlo doesn't smoke (maybe cigars for fun). Then I decided to put him in a more youthful / punk aesthetic, perhaps something mimicking a biker's or letter jacket from high school. 

The last minute decision was making it snow. I wanted to see a new version of Hybolt City, up close and personal, highly rendered, with weather not seen since NYC getting the snowpocalypse in the last few winters hehe. Interpret as you will, but I was aiming for a comparison of being unprepared for the storm, as is life.

Arlo has a lot to figure out. The world is reminding him of the hurdles he must push through, both physical and emotional. Hopefully he can catch the next train home (airships are grounded in weather like this).
