"Comet Neowise and the Trees of Eagles"

Now that Comet Neowise is passing us I wanted to share with you the photograph that took a week of 3:00 AM outings to capture. This is a location that I've been coming to for about six months to photograph while I've lived in Idaho, and if there's anywhere here that I wanted to pair with this once in many lifetimes comet, this was it.

Among the branches on that tallest tree sits a large nest, home to a family of bald eagles. These are without a doubt the largest trees in the area, but they also chose this nesting location because it overlooks the Snake River where I've frequently found the adults hunting. This location harbors some of my most memorable memories during my time living in Idaho and I'm glad to have captured a photo that does them justice.
