Edit: Added special units up to AW: Dual Strike. Enjoy the awesome!
That would be quite fantastic, let me know what the quotes would be for that. Do you usually stick to single formats for your pixel art? I'm wondering how easy it would be to import graphics for a project if it were in the proper file format? As you could guess I haven't researched a bunch on importing graphics, heh heh..
Also, have you done more advanced advance wars art? like stuff pertaining to COs? Even if it's using existing COs as bases to make new ones, it would be likely all I need for my project. I just haven't had the luck in finding any services with people who've also had experience with the authentic AW style
Regarding quotes, how does USD $30 for an entire AW faction sound? I'll separate them in their own .png so it's easier to port to Unity or something. As for COs, check out my AW style Command and Conquer Generals: Zero Hour pic in my gallery. For those, would USD $5 per CO be okay?
I've seen them just now! Very nice!! Those prices are perfectly fine by me. I have a whole bunch of planning to do, but once I get that out of the way, I'll be sure to come back with some sort of a blueprint! I won't dictate what you do very much, my only guidelines will probably just be on theme, or something they're meant to make reference to, etc. For this project I have come up with custom units as well, so I'll give that to you in detail when the time comes, too.
The one thing I haven't thought to touch on is special effects, like the explosions in the original game. I wouldn't dream of asking you to create something like that as it sounds like a very complex thing, since that would involve frames and all, but ive noticed some people have extracted those frames into graphic sheets online, and was wondering if I could pay you to either enhance or separate them into files, since people think they're doing a favor with the condition they leave the sprite sheets in when it in fact makes it fairly unusable
Well, I can do pixel effects like explosions etc - I have experience as 2D artist in the game industry. That can certainly be done. And yes, the theme and reference is frankly a requirement. I'd like to see the blueprint/plan so I can see how much effect I'm supposed to do before I pin a price on them. Looking forward to this!
That's wonderful that it can be done, because some ideas I had involved explosions with water based units, so that would also be a huge help. I'm looking forward to this, too! I'm glad that you saw my comment! Out of the handful of people that do AW related content from time to time, you're certainly one of the best. I can't promise an exact date when I'll return with some more finalized plans, but I plan on it! The ideas I've had are among a few that I share with another person, so I'll have to collaborate with them on something that we both agree on. Could take a little while d:
