Screenshot from RoboCop: Prime, one of my Amstrad CPC-style projects in development.

16 colours, wide-pixels, doubled with scanlines for effect.  Yep.

So the project took off?

Yeah, PC version built to CPC specs then eventually true CPC version when I'm done with this one and hand over all the resources and assets to CPC coders on CPCWiki.

Looking forward to those

Looks great dude! Have you thought about printing off one of these background for your NECA Robocop?

Print my CPC game as a backdrop for my NECA figures?  Oh I dunno.  Not sure if it would look as good as the backdrop they supplied from the (crappy) NES game.  Besides, my printer is pretty smeggered up now.  I only keep it around cos it's also a scanner and I always need to scan drawings and documents.

Am so enjoying making this game.  Just last night I spent half an hour making Robo pick up crooks and walk about then safely place them down else where.  I've no idea why.  It just looks funny. =p

Always good when you are enjoying making stuff.

I'd buy it. Course I'm a big RC fan in the first place.

Also, I like the 'I'd buy that for a dollar' reference you got there.

Though seriously I'd pay more then a dollar for this.

Heh thanks.  Unlikely I could charge money for it anyways since it's based on a movie studio's intellectual property but I'm having fun making it.

Glad you recognised the image on the TV screen.  I'm never quite sure if people can given the size & the retro colours/resolution but it seems it's working fine. =)

Always a bit of a sticking legal point aint it? Perhaps a Flattr or something of that nature might help you fund this little side project of yours. You know, people giving you tips for seeing what they like/encouraging development.

Anyway, yeah the resolution you have there should be fine, I love little details like that. Shows that its a labor of love rather then a money grabbing corporate venture.

... I miss Robocop vs. Terminator.

Hard as hell but hella fun.

Had to look up what flattr was as I've never heard of it and after reading about it, I'm still not sure what it is. =p

The resolution is to do with the fact this is hopefully being ported to the real hardware it is simulating, the Amstrad CPC computers.  My first and still among the very few machines I am fond of.  It's being designed with those specs in mind (though when it comes time to actually port it there may be a few things cut due to speed and memory or something but I'm doing a lot of lil clever tricks to get around those).

Yeah I had RoboCop Vs Terminator.  One of those rare cases where the Mega Drive version was actually better than the SNES one.   The figure company NECA are doing RvsT repaints of their Robo and Terminator figures out soon too.  They look awesome (I already own the NECA Robo in 6 versions and I'll still probably buy the two in that line as well)
