Hyperrealism is a genre of painting or sculpture that can be mistaken for a high-resolution photo. This is an extension of Photorealism, which was created in the traditional since. The use of a photo for a reference to create something that is more definite and detailed. Everything about the subject would be taken into consideration, no detail left behind you could say. Everything is very tight and mechanical. Emotion or narratives are generally left out on purpose to create only what is real and in the moment.
On the other hand, Hyperrealism takes Photorealism to a more surreal degree, some would say. The Artist wants to create exactly what they see and embellish it to a degree of almost unbelievable realism, or a new reality. Every degree of the surface area is created to appear clearer than even the original subject matter. Hyperrealism stimulates reality for the viewer, when really it crosses the line of illusion.
