The Willards

Todd’s been one of the characters whose needed parents designed for him the longest. One of the things I look for first in designing a character though is what their occupation is, and I just didn’t know what I wanted them to be. Eventually, as I fleshed out Todd’s background, I figured it out. Todd’s parent’s put a lot of pressure on him to exceed in school, and are the reason he stays up late into the night to study and why he has a job he hates. They don’t do it out of malice of course, but they ask a lot of him and have high expectations. It was from here that I figured they should have high profile jobs, and decided they be insurance agents. They are distant and busy, but not without affection like Nicholas’ parents.
