Personality

Roger is the most level-headed of The Royals, and the most likely to get along with outsiders. He's a natural diplomat, and is able to diffuse internal arguments within the group, which are common. He’s a talented guitarist as well, and usually plays on the back porch in his free time. His favorite genres are folk and rock and roll, and his favorite singer is Bill Haley. Sadly, he doesn’t get to do this much though, since his dedication to his longtime friends and their "club" takes up a lot of his time. He secretly fantasizes about being a rockabilly singer, but is under no illusion that it could ever happen. Roger doesn’t really like doing wrong, but the way he sees it he doesn’t have many options. Ronnie and Chris are his only friends, have been since they were young, and that means something to him. He would never just throw them under the bus, and any decision to go against them is a hard one. Although unintentional, he sometimes shows his reluctance to commit harmful acts, to which he’s always met with his fellow juvenile delinquents deriding him. Within the group, they're aware that Roger isn't fully committed to what they do, and as such they sometimes question his loyalty. To prove himself, Roger is constantly volunteering to do grunt work that the others don't want to. This way he has a somewhat cleaner conscience, as at least he isn't doing the much worse things that're left up to Ronnie and Chris while still helping out. If The Royals ever need someone unintimidating to reach out to a normal person, Roger is always the go-to.

Biography

Roger's parents do their best for their son, living a humble life in their small home by the railroad tracks. They border on the edge of lower-middle class and poor, but are happy. They worry greatly for their son who they know to be caring and gentle, but hangs out with a bad crowd. Still, they are supportive and put more trust in him than they rightly should. They are aware that their son's friends are bad influences, but what they don't know is the extant of the things they do together, in particular flirting with the mob. It kills Roger to keep this from them and he hates disappointing them, but at the point he's at, he sees no way out.

Appearance

Roger is 5'6" and handsome. He has blonde hair combed meticulously into a neat pompadour. He has gold fur and gray eyes. When in school, like most of the greasers, he wears his uniform with the tie loosened, the collar popped, shirt untucked, and sleeves rolled up. Coming from a poor family, Roger does what he can with his modest wardrobe, dressing simply, but with flair. His most common outfit outside of school is a simple white tee-shirt tucked into his jeans, and red sneakers.

Skills and Abilities

Roger is a skilled guitar player, and is loyal to the end. He is the only one Chris truly trusts, and he will defend his positions vigorously from anyone sticking their nose where they don't belong. He and his friends get along well, and Roger has been known to keep unnecessary bad news from them to preserve a good mood.

Weaknesses

Roger's dedication to his only friends outweighs his apprehension to doing bad. No matter how bad he feels about doing crime, he will never betray them. This ultimately dooms him in the end, as the longer he stays with them, the more unlikely other students would be to forgive him if he ever flipped.

In addition to getting paid to smash things, Roger works an honest part-time job at the Marathon Garage near the edge of the Lincolnshire.
