Personality

Lawrence is an enigmatic handyman in Povey, and is most known for being the janitor at St. Thomas High School. He is also a maintenance worker at Richard’s, where he maintains a quiet and consistent presence, only appearing during the early mornings and at closing time. His reserved personality and lack of speech contributes to his self-effacing nature. In truth, in the past Lawrence was the right-hand man of Richard during his bootlegging days in prohibition. This background reveals a history of involvement in illicit activities to the unassuming and seemingly mute handyman. He can still be seen regularly with Richard, most notably tending bar in the basement of the diner during parties and gatherings.

Biography

Lawrence lives in a small shotgun house by himself, and is a longtime associate and friend of Richard Dunhurst, going back to his bootlegging days. He was and still is his most reliable and trusted constituent, having once occupied the role of Richard's personal assistant. Nowadays, he still hangs around the basement of the diner during parties, silently tending bar. He has been the custodian at St. Thomas since 1943.

Lawrence drives a gray 1950 GMC Sierra, the bed filled with his tools and other equipment.

Appearance

Lawrence is 5'9", wears round eyeglasses, and has gray, scruffy fur. He has a push-broom mustache, and long, furry eyebrows. Most of the time, he wears gray-blue coveralls over a red turtleneck, brown suspenders, work boots, and a brown, plaid flat cap.

Lawrence has a wealth of knowledge on all things electrical, heating, or plumbing related. He’s always got a practical solution to everything, and is able to solve complex issues with ease. He also makes a great martini.

Job

Lawrence is well known as a handyman in town, though he doesn't work in any official capacity. His number is in the phonebook though, and he doesn't mind visiting people and lending a hand when his expertise is needed. His true occupation however, is as the janitor at St. Thomas. While he may come in at Richard's to clean things up in the morning and help shut things down at night, he is not on the payroll.
