Description

Here's one I got earlier in the year.

Doka treats these astromechs like canvases. They are artworks. The detail put into the paintwork turns these droids from overly bright toys into realistic robots straight out of the Star Wars universe. Each droid also has a really detailed back story compiled by Doka and his family. As well as existing droids you can also contact Doka if you have a specific idea in mind for the droid you want.

If you're interested in a droid for yourself be it an R unit or BB unit head over to -

I have several of these droids and contrary to what some say online they do interact with one another.

2BB-778's story...

Usually, we don't deal in "Grey" Market droids. But, sometimes it becomes difficult to find sources for reliable pre-owned droids for us to purchase and refurbish. This "shortage" then leads to us looking for stock in...well...less reputable locations. Now, just to be clear: this droid isn't stolen (to the best of our knowledge), or wanted in any system for crimes (to the best of our knowledge), but the folks we bought this droid from...well, that's another matter.

When we first saw the droid (with it's crudely spray-painted markings on the head), we pretty much knew right away what we were looking at. The double-K symbol could only mean one thing out here in the Outer Rim: kanjiklub. Now, if you are from the Mid Rim or maybe one of the Core System worlds, you might not be familiar with kanjiklub. They were a ruthless (and, thankfully, short-lived) criminal syndicate who branched out from the Hutt Clan many cycles ago. Now, they didn't use droids that often, except for warehousing, loading/unloading and piloting; so, we are ASSUMING that 2BB didn't actively participate in any heists, raids, mass-shootings, assassinations, bombings, rioting, looting, kidnapping, illegal gambling, pit fighting, torture, extortion, or money laundering. Since we found no direct evidence of this activity in memory files, we are chalking this one up to "innocent until proven guilty".

Now, the nature of this droid is pleasant, and the unit is very capable, even has a bit of an independent streak. If I had to describe its personality, I'd say "rascally" suits very well. 2BB is a bit of a prankster, but good-natured, and (at least around the Shop) never cruel. This droid has a particular talent for bookkeeping and cataloging; SO much, in fact, we've been saying here around the Shop that, "2BB put the 'organized' in 'organized crime'". regardless of its shady past, this astromech is a real find, and a bargain at this price.
