While out testing a recent lens purchase, I decided to revisit an old friend. This road sign is only a two minute drive away from my house and has already featured in three other shots of mine including my first DD.

Over 180 degree panorama made up of 10 images.

"By measuring the number and luminosity of observable galaxies in the known universe, astronomers put current estimates of the total stellar population at roughly seventy billion trillion."
- Maria Temming, How Many Stars Are There in the Universe?

Eustace: "In our world, a star is a huge ball of flaming gas."
Ramandu: "Even in your world, son, that is not what a star is, but only what it is made of."
- C. S. Lewis, The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, chapter XIV

"The sun? Conscious? How?" "In a way lower organisms like you have difficulty to grasp. One thought from the source takes longer than a human life. A conversation with other stars takes thousands of your years." "All the stars are conscious?" A dry laughter resounded. "Of course. They are the original inhabitants of the cosmos. Without them there would be no organic life, let alone organic consciousness."
- Elian Lazaro, Elysium

Thank you :D Although I must say that this isn't a single image from one lens. It is a panorama of about 10 images (but yeah the lens used is still pretty awesome :D)

Images are absolutely stunning. I have patience to do landscapes but I can imagine something like this must take hours and hours of waiting to achieve.

Thank you so much for the great feedback :D I'm glad you like it. Yeah it certainly can take hours to wait for the right section of sky to appear and it can take weeks or even months to wait for the right weather/moon conditions.

How did I do this shot? Started at the horizon to my left. Took a picture, moved the tripod a bit to the right. Took another picture. Continued until I had covered over 180 degrees of the view. Images are then loaded into a piece of panorama creating software and this is the result.
