After shooting "Space Travel" I thought it would be fun to do a star trail. Ideally I would like to do a star trail with a stop sign. Maybe another day. I also would have liked to shoot a lot longer but there was a lot of dew in the air, and I only got 30 minutes in before the lens started to fog over.

Canon 60D
Tamron 10-24mm Lens @ 11mm
ISO 1600
Combination of sixty 30 second exposures
RAW files converted to 16bit Tifs, then stacked in StarTrails [link]
Final processing in Photoshop Elements 8.0
Sign lightpainted with a mobile phone screen in one of the frames.
Feel free to tell me which one you like the best.

Edit: Woohoo!!! It's a DD. A big Thank You to all who faved and commented on this photo, and a particularly huge Thanks to those who suggested it and awarded it

Although there are many Star Trail images out there, this is probably one of the best that I have seen. It's one thing to do just a star trail image, it's another to incorporate elements such as light painting, and perfect use of landmarks, or in this case road signs.
The composition of this image makes you giggle a bit at the absurdity of being able to pick a direction to the stars, but at the same time you're drawn in to another universe almost... a universe where dreams can come true, and traveling through the stars is possible! Kinda reminiscent of Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s…" width="15" height="15" alt=":)" title=":) (Smile)"/>
