I few of you have asked how I got the moon so detailed with a single exposure. Well.......... having a large telescope on a very stable tracking mount that counters the rotation of the earth, certainly helps. You also need the telescope to be fine tuned as much as possible (perfectly collimated). You need to get your focus spot on, and you need very stable atmospheric conditions (perfect seeing). Then you need to make sure you don't bump the telescope when you press the shutter, so either delay the shutter or use a remote.
