Description
In Australian Indigenous culture the dark dust lanes within the band of the Milky Way form an Emu with the head located near the Southern Cross (top right of image) and then the neck running down to the body and legs within the central bulge of the Milky Way.
I have wanted to do this image for years but typically when the Milky Way is in the right position the flow of the falls is too much to safely reach these low rocks in the middle of the river (especially at night), but it has been unseasonably drier lately so when the clouds cleared I made the most of the opportunity.
