The Lagoon Nebula (catalogued as Messier 8 or M8, and as NGC 6523) is a giant interstellar cloud in the constellation Sagittarius.

This is my second time imaging this nebula. The first time was the very first image I tried doing once I got all my astrophotography equipment together. I wanted to do it again as I had the camera turned 90 degrees the wrong way on the first image so I cut some of the nebula off the frame.

This might be weird to say, but this doesn't seem real.
Nothing this beautiful could really exist ...out there.
Yep, my mind concludes that this must be computer generated.

...I know it's not it's just... dammit, now the world seems so dull in comparison.

Phenomenal capture by the way!!

This is a fascinating photo to look at. I think it'll inspire me to create a piece of space art sometime in the future. :meow:

I feel you acheived a slight improvement on clarity in this shot over the previous.

Its the areas where colours meet that really stand out in nebulea like this one. So bloody beautiful when captured right!

I could look at images like this for days!

I also can look at images like this for days. And I took the image. I still kick myself sometimes that I am in the fortunate position to own equipment that enables me to do such shots. Glad you like it. :D Thanks

Yeah, thats what fascinates me so much about astrophotography, its how you can reveal things that the naked eye can't see. I think that's why I got into high speed shooting too.

is this a galaxy shot?

No it's not. This is a star forming nebula region within our own galaxy.
