Should've Known | Autumn Auction

Alex should've known Matt wasn't coming along to just watch. Of course, they were already planning which horse to bring to the Donstruppers auction when they got the announcement. It was an event they looked forward to and Stormchaser needed some training to get him up to speed. When Alex had entered the round pen for some tutelage under the instructors, Matt was leaning against the wooden fence. Even during his first trot around the pen, Matt was still there. Just chatting with some of the other owners and riders. Alex had refocused into his class so much that he did miss Matt walking away from the fence. Missed his best friend walk right to the barn holding the horses they had looked over on the drive over to the stable. 

But he didn't miss Matt trotting the flaxen chestnut mare right into the arena as Alex was walking Storm back out to cool down after class. The stunning mare's coat soaked in what little sunshine had managed to hold out this morning and glittered as Matt tested out the mare. 

Alex should've known that Matt was coming along to check out the pretty chestnut mare. Matt did have a thing for red heads after all. He had an obertaurer, a zlesdin, and a barroco, and now he was aiming for a Donstrupper too.
