I think that by now everyone has heard of the live action KP movie to be shown on Disney. It looks like Mark McCorkle and Robert Schooley will be writing as well as producing. There are others who will be helping too so it looks like they have a good team put together so far. I look forward to what the team will put together. My question is this.
What are they going to put together??
I have two lines of thought on this. One, they will start fresh and continue separate from the animated show. All the characters will be there. But the story will start fresh with Kim and Ron in high school doing their thing. There is a lot of reason for this line of thought. It would introduce Kim and the gang to a whole line of new fans and let the show continue as new. Here they would not have to explain how Kim and Ron got to be where they are in the relationship they had at the end of “Graduation”. Also as most of the audience they seem to target would be the teenage/tweenage audience they might not want to do a show on college age Kim and Ron, which is where we left them at the end of the show.
My other line of thought would be that they continue from where “Graduation” left off. There good points and bad points for this. One, it would bring back a lot of fans who want to see the story continued and see Kim and Ron go on to college and continue and grow their relationship. But would a show on college age Kim and Ron really draw on the audience that Disney most likely will be targeting. How far into the relationship would they want to take it or even continue the relationship. How and where would Kim and Ron be in college? Would Ron play football and Kim cheer? How would their college live mesh with staying with world saving.
These are just some thoughts of an old KP fan who has put a part of his life into the show. My first story was published on October 4, 2004. Now thirteen almost fourteen years, 150 some stories later, and by the Grace of God I am still here and still a fan of the show.
I look forward to what they come up with and hope I am still here to see it. I have not said this in some time but.
This is the Captain,

Right hand salute.
