Triang Sydney Suburban 'Sputnik' Set

I can't believe I actually own one of these! :D

This is a very sought-after Triang train and it can fetch high dollars, into the thousands, when complete and especially if boxed! I won't go into details on how I acquired my set apart from saying that it was obtained from the local model train club.

My set has had the wheels changed to metal and it is actually comprised of 3 motor units, no trailer cars. One motor unit has had the pantograph and motor removed and it is acting as a dummy.

The two end units are motorised and the whole thing works very well together as a train.

That's excellent! I like a motor in each end, as I like to change the direction on these frequently, if possible.

The unit is in amazing shape!

I'll have to post some more pictures of it later. It's overall not too great but at least the original couplings are present. A lot of people replaced them with Kadee couplings and in the collection that this was from, everything else had Peco or horn-hook couplers!

Ah, I would've done the same to be honest. Since I'd probably run it with US stock.
