The sun was shining brightly on Keeneland today for the 2015 Breeders Cup Classic and everyone at Fox Harbor was extremely nervous, Triton had been turning out consistent performances for them but he was once again going against some of the top horses of the time right now and they just felt privileged to be among them. Waylon had decided to only run Triton this time, the other horses in the current string had been running quite a bit but Triton hadn't had as much travel lately so he'd been the perfect choice.

They'd trained hard in the wee hours of the morning on the track at Keeneland, a track that Triton was more than familiar with because it was just a few miles from the farm. That had let the colt relax and adjust well after their run in Woodbine. Today in the paddock he was calm and collected, ears pricked forward as all the noise of the crowd just seemed to wash over him giving him confidence. When Waylon went to put his hood on Triton bit at him and tossed his head, today he wanted to see what he was chasing! They had been working with and without one, and it didn't seem to make much of a difference for the horse. But today was important...and that meant keeping the colt happy was the most important thing. So, they'd skipped it.

In the paddock Triton eyed some familiar faces, one in particular he hadn't seen since the Belmont and when he saw Boul he tossed his head and whinnied. The stallion looked good! It had been a while and Triton thought both of them had matured since they ran together last. And then of course there was Ghost, a mare that earned a nicker from the colt before he pawed at the ground. They were always running against each other, and he wanted to wish her luck in this big race!

Soon he felt Colton get on his back and he shifted weight for a moment before it was time to be led out to the track, the post parade had him jumping around. Bouncing as he walked and looking bright and upbeat with each step. Colton laughed and patted his neck, "Mexican Jumping Bean, what's gotten into you today?" Triton tossed his head and nibbled at his pony's neck as he continued to bounce along. He felt full of spit and vinegar and with the sun beating down on his back, the smell of fall in the air, and the promise of a good run against wonderful competition had him feeling full of life.

They were loaded up and he continued to toss his head pawing at the dirt while the other horses were loaded in, as soon as the last gate closed he stilled himself and readied his body to move. The bell sounded off and he took off like a bullet, letting Colton ease him back just a bit so he could move to come on the outside of the rest of the horses. Now that he could see what he was chasing he carefully found a comfortable pace alongside Boul and kept his eyes on Ghost, she was one of the horses he knew he had to really work hard to come close to, and he was bound and determined to do it!
