The Arlington Million

It was the day of Nichi's big race, a day that Waylon and Colton had eagerly been waiting for. The big black stallion had paraded with his normal testiness, pawing and snorting at any of the other horses as they moved around the paddock. When they went into the starting gate he fought hard against Colton, pulling and rearing until he was forced inside. It wasn't the prettiest thing ever, and inside the gate he stamped his hooves snorting angrily. It wasn't until the gates opened that Colton got some sort of control over the stallion. Nichi threw himself forward, practically jumping out of the gate to tear into the turf, he thundered down the lane and Colton was just doing everything he could to hold on. Once he was surrounded by the pack Nichi took his place, easing back and coming alongside WBS Moves Like Jagger. Colton knew that Nichi's competitive spirit would keep him going so he held pace, reining the horse in and pulling his whip up so the stallion could see it. That's when he made his move, giving Nichi full control once again and just praying he could stay mounted the whole time.
