Nichi had been having a very interesting year in his first season for Fox Harbor. Putting up just shy of $750,000 he was by and far the horse who had brought the most into the stable this year followed by Jagger who had done a nice job for both Fox Harbor and White Blood Stables. He had two races left, the Breeders Cup Mile and this Senior Race and right now the intention for the team was to selectively run him again for a 7 year old campaign before officially retiring him to stud. Though he did have several breedings set at the moment, they were hoping that he still had some fight left in him for the track.
For the first few races of the day it had snowed, making things interesting along the track for sure. But as it was time for Nichi to once again face off with Ghost, he had no problems racing against the mare. She was spirited and tough, but friendly which was hard for him to wrap his head around. He had always been feisty and fierce, though as he'd gotten older he started to pick his fights a little better. Mostly, okay sometimes, but Nichi tried to behave himself for his new owners.
Colton was getting his halter on and he snorted at him tossing his head before pawing at the ground with a hoof. The snow felt good and he felt frisky in it, Colt just laughed and got him tacked up before easily mounting the stallion. "What do you think, wanna go for a nice race?"
Nichi half reared before trotting off in the direction that he was urged, there was a spring in his step and he really just wanted to run his heart out.
