FHF Natural Disaster
"Hurricane"
2010 Bay Tobiano Thoroughbred Gelding
(Ee Aa Gg nSb) | 17.1 hh
Angrove Spottedick GB* x Wells Point*
History
Spotted in a small sale at Antrium stables along with eventual Fox Harbor runner and broodmare FHF Witching Hour, the flashy tobiano was scooped up in a heartbeat by jumps jockey and trainer Cecily Jones. She saw fire in the eventual champion, and she couldn't wait to get on his back. Giving him time to train he did not start competition until he was four years old, and has never been worse than second in his career, failing to win only four times in twenty eight starts as of now.
Temperament
Cane is a feisty creature on the end of a line, fierce and strong willed he had the makings of a monster before he was paired with Cecily. Under her gentle hands he's gone on to be relaxed and mostly calm until he sees the heath stretched out in front of him. That's when you can see the ferocity inside the gelding come out, Cane was definitely born to race and it shows every time he gets tacked up.
Conformation
Cane is unusually tall for a jumper, at just over 17 hands high he's a monster on four thick and well muscled legs. With a clunky sort of head, a thick crested like a stallion neck, and a cobby body he's not exactly the most beautiful horse in the world. But beauty aside, he shows every bit of the conformation needed for a strong jumper.
