Nichi looked absolutely amazing coming out of the Arc and so Waylon shipped him out for a little race to close the month out, they were preparing the big stallion to ship back to his home of Japan and prepare for the Japan Cup as well as the Breeders Cup Mile shortly thereafter back in Kentucky. The end of the season for Nichi was going to be brutal so Waylon wanted to take any opportunity to let the stallion show off what he had.

That and looking back at Nichi's career he'd done better when he had been raced hard and often, so the hope was that he'd continue to improve in class as they went on. The end of the year itself was still unknown for Nichi, whether or not he would continue to race for his 7 Year Old season or if he would be put into the breeding shed for the future. But, for now they just wanted to get him out and keep him out as long as he was performing as nicely has he had been for them.

Nichi was calm on his journey, relaxed and easy he took everything in stride. Even though he'd finished a game forth in the Arc he had put in a fabulous display and proven that he was not too old to keep up with the young horses. It had put a bit of confidence back into the stallion, but Waylon was hoping another go would build him up even more. Taking a deep breath and inhaling the scents of the track as they paraded to the gate for The Bold Ruler Handicap Nichi just looked in command.

The field was small but talented, and he wasn't the only older horse entered. Which was fabulous to the stallion, especially considering the other older horse was a lovely mare. Giving his head a strong shake he knocked thoughts of mares out of it and pawed at the gate door before settling back to prepare to launch out with his normal burst of speed.

Nichi preferred to be in front but he knew Colton wanted him to pull back some and reserve his speed for later, still...he just couldn't let himself fall behind. Being behind horses was the last thing he ever wanted to do, so he opened up and hoped he could keep his legs moving hard and strong to show that he could not only run to the front but stay up there and bring the prize home!
