Triton was on vet ordered rest after grabbing his quarter and he couldn't be more unhappy about it, he'd been moping around the stall all day. The moping was not something that Waylon cared for so he'd changed plans on what he was going to be doing with Sabrina and decided to walk her along the shedrow, taking her right in front of Triton's stall and stopping there for a moment so the two could interact.
The colt's head was down and he was standing at the back of his stall when Sabrina nickered at him, it didn't take much for him to perk up after that and he moved over and leaned out to return the nicker. All Waylon could do was laugh and let the two of them nuzzle each other for a few moments, Harley came through and he handed Sabrina off so she could continue her exercise before he stepped over to Triton and began rubbing his neck.
"Don't worry boy, you'll be able to start working again soon. And tomorrow you can go out to the paddock and relax before you fly to Melbourne. You and Jagger will share the flight, and the doc says you should be ready to race. Just have to take a little break before that's all."
Triton sighed heavily and rested his head against Waylon's shoulder, he didn't feel like he needed to take a break! He felt the need to run, despite the soreness of his hoof. Waylon was leaving again and he sighed and went back to the back of his stall, huffing before laying down. He'd get to race soon, that's what Waylon said. Triton decided he'd just store his pent up energy for the race, and then let them see that he hadn't needed the rest at all!
