Story:

Nichi huffed lightly into the fall air as he was tacked up for the race today. He seemed a little off, even by his standards and that made Colton worry at his lip. Usually he was a little more spunky than this, but it seemed Sabrina had taken all the spunk from the stable today. Giving the stallion a good nose rub he smiled softly, "What's up big guy?"

The big black horse made lips at him before stealing his FHF hat off the top of his head and gave a few good tosses before he threw it on the ground. "Well that told me everything huh?" Colt laughed and patted his neck before giving him a little bit of a rub down, they still had time to get ready and he'd let Harley and Cecily go over with Triton and Jagger first before he got Nichi going.

Once they got into the paddock and Nichi spotted several of the other horses he started to act a little more like himself, getting a fiery look in his eye he tried to nail Triton as they went by. The bay tossed his head and shook it at Nichi but otherwise was unphased, it had been a long time since Nichi had tried to bite one of the other FHF racing stallions but Colton knew how to handle him. Getting him wrangled into his stall he took some time holding him while the other horses went by in their warm ups before he let himself be mounted up on the stallion's back.

Once they were a part of the parade it was easy going, he was high stepping and throwing his head, biting the bit with vigor and wanting nothing more than to go go go. He loaded up and threw a fit in the gate, and then as soon as it opened he charged off full speed down the lane fighting to take the lead. At one point he came along Beau a horse he had raced against many times this year and he lowered his neck, fire in his eyes, and tried his best to outrun the slightly older stallion. Sure the race was a long one, but this little fight against Beau was important to him!
