Blank Expressions - Lilith Cosplay by Candy-Ice Blank Expressions - Lilith Cosplay by Candy-Ice

Holy crap you guys, I'm actually submitting more than one deviation within a moth's time span? Damn. Anyways, I'm happy to announce my newest cosplay, Lilith the Siren from Borderlands! Or at least, semi-new. You see, Borderlands has been one of my surprise favorite games for a while, and I was absolutely in love with Lilith's design. So, I decided to do her for my second cosplay!

And I did...last year.

Technically, I debuted this cosplay for Otakon 2011, but good god it was absolutely terrible. Looking back there were so many things wrong with it, and it just never really popped. So, now that we're in the summer con season, I decided to redo it--and basically, I redid just about everything. It was a lot of work, but I could not be more happy with the result! I tried to give that sort of drawn look like the game has, as that's half the reason why I love the game so much and I was extremely impressed with the other cosplayers who did that (that, and it makes my horrible weathering job look ok xD) I also had yellow contacts, and while I thought for sure I had two of them, it turned out I only had one, but I decided to wear it on my more visible eye. So that's why my eye colors are sort of weird there. BUT ANYWAY if you want a big description on how I did this costume and some differences between version 1 and this one (along with a photo comparison), check it out here: [link]

I don't really have that many photos of this cosplay yet, so I'm using this gorgeous one taken at the photobooth at the con. I was trying to aim for that dumb pose she does where she just kind of stares off camera with her fingers on her lips, and I liked this shot so much I bought a print of it! This is actually a scan of that print, although the colors came out more dramatic for some reason. I'm hoping to wear this cosplay again very soon and will hopefully have a new photoshoot, so I can get more photos of this! Not that many people took my picture at the con, but I think that was more because they were unfamiliar with Borderlands (you know it's a sad day when someone comes up to you and angrily asks you if you're supposed to be a "rough and tumble Fluttershy"--seriously?) But no matter, I am still extremely proud of this and can't wait to wear this again! :D

Now that I'm done furiously working on cosplays, I'll be drawing again soon, so keep an eye out! Stay cool gaiz :iconsunglassesplz:

oh god yes. Your costume was amazing at Anime NEXT. *___* And I agree with karniz, the little extra details with the "cel shading" were incredible... you even included the little storage unit thingie! AND IT GLOWED! Please tell me you saw everything through that silly old HUD the entire con... ;_;

Again, I think you did a fantastic job with Lilith~! I'm still in awe over your little cel-shading body/armor details. ♥
[All that was missing was a Brick, Mordecai, and Roland... ^w^;;]

Late response is late oh god I'm so sorry but thank you so much! :D I really wanted the cel-shaded look to be a central piece to this costume so I'm really glad I managed to pull it off quite well :dummy:

(And I agree, we need more Borderlands cosplayers! :XD: I plan to wear this to Otakon soon so hopefully I'll have better luck then!)
