Sickness - Nov 2009

Spotted this poor fellow on a rail nearest the fish feeding ponds. Not sure what's happened to his talon, but he seems to gather most of his food from leftover fish food that patrons leave when feeding fish and turtles. Notified the zoo so that they could try to capture this poor bird and take him to the Conservancy, which rehabilitates injured and/or sick wildlife. Hopefully he'll be doing much better soon.

yes, I hope the zoo managed to catch him to get it treated. He seemed to be quite bothered by it and I don't know if it's something that would simply cure itself (I'm no expert haha).

Oh nice thing you captured this photo with all the details. I think its not an injury but rather a desease of the skin. Something making the skin going thick and rough.

It's more a spiritual thing than a religious one. I just tend to feel at home, peaceful, in nature. A lot of people tend to feel that way in a Church, but I don't. Nature seems like a far better place to understand and feel what's going on around you than in a man-made building that keeps you from enjoying what He created. More power to those who feel, in Church, what I feel outside the walls though. I wasn't raised in a certain belief system - what time I DID spend in a religion; I was Baptist as was my mother. She wasn't very religious either though, so I was more than welcome to find what felt right for me. I dabbled in a few (neo) Pagan beliefs in high school, and though I can pick certain things from each, I by no means felt inspired by it in it's entirety to stick with any of them. Now I just believe what I believe, without labeling it.

K, every word you just spoke, is how I feel and think. Even down to the Baptist part. :) I sometimes feel alone and was trying to find like minded individuals, who meet ..talk etc...:) I recently looked up and read alittle about pantheism, deism etc..... trying to find a group. TY so much for sharing with me. I really appreciate it. If you ever need to unload, send me a NOTE on here. :dalove:
