"The Writing on the Wall" is an idiomatic expression that suggests a portent of doom from the Book of Daniel, 5-25.

Yes, I've been on a ladder, doing repairs, tethered to an oxygen cylinder.
Not quite an EVA on the ISS; but, kind of weird.

State worker’s bosses ignored his allergies.

A Nevada County jury awarded John Barrie $3 million in damages, after a one-month trial that ended last week. upholding his claims that he experienced retaliation, that his employer failed to accommodate his disability and that he was subjected to a hostile work environment.

He continues to work for [them]...  in a position that allows him to work from home.

Aren’t clean water, air, food, and shelter basic human rights?

Sure, people have a right to do what they like with their person and property; but, don’t they have a responsibility to not make someone else sick doing it?

Businesses may have a right to make a profit for their employees, communities, and shareholders; but, don’t they have a responsibility not to make people sick, or pollute their communities, while they’re at it?

Isn’t that common decency?

There seems to be a lot of talk about the rights of people and corporations; but, there doesn’t seem to be much mention of responsibilities anymore.

Even some of the most prominent and powerful people mock the laws, flouting the notion that even the judiciary can make them give a damn, let alone treat others with common decency.

It would be so easy to show some consideration for people and their disabilities, and those affected by scents, etc.

But, maybe humans have always had to have kindness enforced.

Maybe, that’s why the “Divine Right” of Feudal lords had to be curtailed with laws like the Magna Carta.

It’s hard to have much confidence in a species that would carelessly poison their planet and neighbours, for something as ephemeral as profit.

As my Gaffer used to say, “Money’s just paper; they print more every day.”

Then, he added, “And, it’s not even paper anymore.”

Let’s hope God/ Nature help us to wise up before humans make the planet uninhabitable for all mammals.

No doubt the Earth can carry on well enough without people; it has before; but, how did anyone ever think the inverse could be equally true?

Keep Breathing.
