Time and Again

I was thinking about A Stitch In Time, for A Play on Words, hosted by WakefieldDesigns.

While working on the TALKING ABOUT TIME Contest., hosted by Art-Revival and The Do It Again Group Activity!, hosted by ManipulateThis

This is one of my favourites. It made me laugh, though.

I thought I’d learned so much about layers and things; but, when it was finished, side by side, they look much the same.

Well, I still like it.

There’s never enough time.

And, it’s always easier to do things earlier than later.

But, my Mum always said that timing is everything;

And, you have to wait for When The Time is Ripe.

Memo:

When The Time is Ripe  and Tempus Fugit (Time Flies), were submitted to TALKING ABOUT TIME Contest., hosted by Art-Revival.

Maybe, Dr. Hawking is right; and, there are multiple parallel dimensions, on the other side of Black Holes; so, we could travel to other dimensions;

But, it seems like Einstein was also right; and, there isn’t enough energy in the universe to travel in time, except the one way, we’re all going.

For The Do It Again Group Activity!, hosted by ManipulateThis, I revisited The Phoenix Project: Terra 3k c.e., in The Phoenix Project: Shipyardsand Deja Vu

This was interesting. And, the new one looks a lot more focused.

It’s also made me wonder what the crew of The Phoenix Project are going to find in the wilder, wider world. It will be interesting to see what happens next.

Listening to:

Jethro Tull - A Stitch In Time

Masud Sadiki - A Stitch In Time(Official Music Video)

The Smashing Pumpkins - A Stitch In Time

There is always interesting music on YouTube, often things I’ve never heard before.

My Aunt likes to watch jazz acts, when she can’t sleep.

Jazz is astonishing technically; but, the syncopation might add to insomnia;

Are there are a lot of jazz lullabies?

Reading:

Time and Again [1970] is an illustrated novel, by American writer Jack Finney.

The many illustrations in the book are real, though, as explained in an endnote, not all are from the 1882 period in which the actions of the book take place.

Robert Redford was rumoured to be making the book into a movie.[1]

In 2012, Lionsgate studios optioned the film rights, with Doug Liman set to direct.[2]

From Time to Time (1995), a sequel was published in the final year of the author’s life.

A third installment was planned; but, not finished, as far as is known.

[It seems the author ran out of time.]

The various formats and books in the series are available at Amazon.

I started with the Audiobook, from the on-line library. [It’s pretty good.]

My Grandma always said everything takes a lot longer than you think.

And, there’s never enough time; and, she was right, on both.

Take Care.

Post Script

My brother just told me the water heater is leaking. It looks like it rusted through.

So, it will probably need to be replaced.

He said it was a small trickle before; but, it’s getting much worse all of a sudden.

That can’t be good.

He thought it would seal itself with sediment; or, he could patch it up with duct tape.

As my Mum often said, if it’s not one thing, it’s another.

She said her Grandma used to say, if it’s not one thing, it’s the utter; when she was teaching the kids how to milk the cows and goats.

Who is the patron saint of plumbers, St. Jude?

Wikipedia says there are two:

Maturinus – Patron Saint of comic actors, jesters, clowns, sailors (in Brittany), tinmen (in Paris)[34] and of plumbers.[35]

And, Vincent Ferrer – plumbers and builders.

Fingers crossed.

I can spot the differences, and they do look good, though I still like both versions. ^_^
Thanks for sharing this, and I wish you best of luck with that water heater.
