Odin consults a völva, in “Odin and the Völva”, by Lorenz Frølich (1895)

-Illustrations for Nordens Guder (Nordic Gods) by Adam Oehlenschläger, 1885.

-Illustrations for Den Ældre Eddas Gudesange by Karl Gjellerup, 1895.

Tapestries Dagmar Olrik and her crew spent 18 years creating  for the Copenhagen's City Hall, based on Lorenz Frølich’s work.[1][2]-------------------------

Given the epic mythological theme, it seemed a good chance to try to create mural sized piece, based on Lorenz Frølich’s  work from 1885. And, 1895.

A scene like this takes so long and strain on the computer, this was the first time I tried something quite like it, since Rocket Robin Hood Rescues Marion From the Castle and And, In The End- Of The Beginning.

Odin and Frigg foresee Ragnarok: the end of the world and humanity, before their Renaissance, with Líf and Lífþrasir;[28]

But, still keep trying.

As my Mum often said, “There’s always something to look forward to.”

I can’t help but hear Die Walküre-The Ride of the Valkyries, as Julie Nesrallah, the host of CBC Radio 2’s Tempo said, in her introduction, “Terrible man; Great Music”.

In the few weeks, I've learned of friends and friends of friends, who have succumb to disease, and disabling conditions, and, most tragically, the escalating costs of health care;

Hopefully, the Valkyrie took them to Fólkvangr [the Blessed Fields], rather than Valhalla, with the einherjar(Old Norse “Fighters”[1]);

They’ve already fought their battles and deserve some rest, if there is any to be had, in the worlds.
