Nothing Will Come of Nothing

Nothing Will Come of Nothing-

This was made for Introducing a New Monthly Stock Use Challenge!, hosted by PirateLotus-Stock [et al Elandria and Aeirmid].

The theme is “Nothingness”.

There is nothing in the universe more “Nothing” than a Black Hole, at the heart of a collapsed star, where the gravitational forces are so extreme that not even light can escape.

But, some Physicists, like Professor Stephen Hawking, have changed their minds about them, suggesting that Black Holes might be gateways to other universes and that information, though in a highly altered form may still come back from their horizon.

So, maybe even in the darkest place in the universe, there is still something, though we may not be able to see it.

As the saying goes, “Life, but not as we know it.”

There are more things in Heaven and Earth, than are dreamt of in our philosophies.

Hopefully, one day will learn all about it, for ourselves.

Thanks to all the Stock Artists and to PirateLotus-StockElandria, and Aeirmid,  for hosting this challenge.

[1] Nothing comes from nothing - Wikipedia

Nothing can come of nothing - Shakespeare Quotes -

Shakespeare: King Lear: Act 1, Scene 1 []

- (Latinnihil fit ex nihilo) is a philosophical expression of a thesis first argued by Parmenides.  It is associated with ancient Greek cosmology, such as in Homer and Hesiod.

-In William Shakespeare's King Lear, the king's daughter Cordelia is unable to put her love for him into words, unlike her sisters. The king says, "Nothing will come of nothing".[9] Later, Lear says, "Nothing can be made out of nothing" (Act 1.1, Act 1.4).

[2]  Into a Black Hole - Stephen Hawking, “Black holes are stranger than anything dreamt up by science fiction.”

[3] No Escape From Black Holes? Stephen Hawking Points to a Possible . New York Times, Jun 6, 2016 – “Recently Stephen Hawking, who has [said] ... that nothing — not even light... could ever escape [from Black Holes]...  [Says] His equations showed that black holes would not last forever.”

[4] "It's life, Jim, but not as we know it," is said by Spock, in the Star Trek[1] parody song, Star Trekkin' - Wikipedia, written by John O'Connor, Grahame Lister and Rory Kehoe, popularized in the Music Video, by The Firm - Star Trekkin' - YouTube

This line was not actually said in the original Star Trek series but the song has so popularized the phrase that it is now commonly misattributed to the original. The closest equivalent in the original is "No life as we know it" in "The Devil in the Dark".[4]

[5] There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy, Hamlet to Horatio, Hamlet (Act 1, Scene 5, Lines 167-8).

[6] The one Angelic Being helping engineer the Black Hole is clothed in glory and obscured by the nebula. It would seem that the DA’s “Mature Content” filter would not apply in this case, for a number of reasons.

Further, in Canada, being topless has gender equality; although, given the climate, bugs, etc., light, long sleeves and pants, is not imprudent, inside the atmosphere.

In outer space, outside the earth’s damaged ozone layer, no doubt, other criteria apply, such as solar winds and personal preference.

Topfreedom” in Canada - Wikipedia -In Canada, the law on public decency is found in sections 173 and 174  of the Criminal Code.[2].

In 1991, toplessness as an indecent act was challenged by Gwen Jacob in Guelph,Ontario, who removed her shirt and was charged with indecency. Part of her defense was the double standards between men and women. Although she was convicted, this was overturned by the Court of Appeal... [So] being topless is gender neutral and not indecent [in Canada]. So, Women can go topless [CBC].

Post Script- So, rereading the DA guidelines about “Mature Content”, it says that things should be so labelled, if there is any nudity (maybe, it means ankles?) or anything that might upset a sensitive person. As my Gaffer said, that could be anything, which would leave us with nothing (And, he was talking about censoring the comedians Wayne & Schuster). Which goes back to the theme, of “Nothingness”.
