Homonoia and Pax

Homonoia & Pax-

This is an alternate version of Concordia and Pax, made for a friend.

Homonoia was the goddess of harmony and being of one mind, in Greek Mythology.

Pax is the goddess of Peace, in the ancient Roman religion.

We could always do with a bit more Peace and Harmony.

All You Need Is Love- The Beatles

This was inspired by the Vintage Valentine Challenge!, hosted by ManipulateThis.

But, it wasn’t entered, while it uses a vintage postcard from the required set, it isn’t one of the required images.

Continuing from Ceres and The Asteroid Belt, and Ceres and Her Sisters:

-679 Pax is a minor planet in our solar system, identified by German astronomer August Kopff in 1909, named after Pax.

-40 Harmonia is a large main-belt asteroid, identified by Hermann Goldschmidt, in 1856,[4] and named after Harmonia, the Greek goddess of harmony.

The name was chosen to mark the end of the Crimean War.

-307261) 2002 MS4  is a large classical Kuiper belt object

It is the second-largest known object in the Solar System without a name, after 2007 OR10, though “Homonoia” has been suggested.

It was identified in 2002 by Chad Trujillo and Michael Brown.

Valentine’s Day

Valentine's Day started as a Christian liturgical feast day for saints named Valentinus.

The day first became associated with romantic love within the circle of Geoffrey Chaucer in the 14th century, when the tradition of courtly love flourished.

In 18th-century England, it evolved into an occasion in which lovers expressed their love for each other by presenting flowers, offering confectionery, and sending greeting cards (known as "valentines").

In Europe, Saint Valentine's Keys are given to lovers "as a romantic symbol and an invitation to unlock the giver’s heart", as well as to children, in order to ward off epilepsy (called Saint Valentine's Malady).

[1] Pax was depicted with olive branches, a cornucopia, and/ or a scepter.

[2] Concordia was depicted sitting, wearing a long cloak and holding onto a patera (sacrificial bowl), a cornucopia (symbol of prosperity), or a caduceus (symbol of peace).

She was often shown in between two other figures, such as standing between two members of the Imperial family shaking hands.

She was associated Pax and Salus, or Securitas and Fortuna.

The Four Loves is a book by C. S. Lewis which explores the nature of love.

It was based on radio talks from 1958; but, was criticised in the US for its frankness about sex.[2]

1-Storge—empathy bond

2-Philia—friend bond

3-Eros—erotic bond

4-Agape—unconditional 'God' love
