My Bio
I am a product of my split heritage, Italian and Canadian rolled into one: Italian fiestiness, Canadian politeness, and an early addiction to Saturday morning cartoons, comics and manga. Growing up I was more often doodling sexy girls and dragons on my textbooks than reading them. In 1998 I attended my first San Diego Comic Con and found my calling, I would be a manga artist. I am very prolific with relentless passion for art, dedication, and just enough sleep deprivation, I followed my dream of working creatively for a living.

I have worked with Dark Horse Comics, Image Comics, Random House, Tokyopop, Hasbro, Disney, Sanrio, Neil Gaiman and also with video game and movie companies on character development. I have my own characters and properties, Tanpopo and Helmetgirls. I've successfully merchandised and licensed my artwork across a variety of categories: clothing, stationery and gift, accessories, art prints, etc. and I continue expanding my licensing program each year.

I can't live without Holbein's "DUO" water-soluble oils, green tea lattes, Hello Kitty merchandise, and my daily fix of manga and anime and pop surrealism

Camilla is proud to be supported by, and to work with, Vancouver based Pac Blue Printing and their team of professionals for all her printing needs.

Spreading Positivity Against Bullying

Spreading Positivity Against Bullying

Today I have BULLYING on my mind. So for #throwbackthursday I want to use my 2016 painting Bettas On My Mind to talk about this issue. I want to speak up about how awful online bullying is.  Let me first say that I love all of you that comment and send love and positivity on my social media, i love you so much.  On occasion i have to deal with people who aren’t so nice, people who forget that i’m a human being with real feelings. Their cutting comments hurt. Its one of the reasons i have comments disabled on Youtube. I’ve learned over the years to grow a thicker skin, to delete the mean comments and move on. But yesterday a

I've just discovered an artist with a similar style, but with mostly male subjects and ink drawings it seems. His name is Katsuya Terada. Do you know of him? I'm wondering if he is an influence on your work. :meow: You both do a lot of interesting compositions weaving different imagery together, especially at the face like this:

Someone uploaded a photo of one of his drawings located in San Fransisco to an art group that I am in on Facebook, but they did not know the artist. I thought it was yours on first impression, but the lips were different and it seemed a bit more cynical. Thankfully someone else recognized it as Katsuya Terada'a. :D Just wanted to share this with you and see if you had any input. I thought it was a fascinating comparison.
