Trouble at the Henhouse

This was the fourth "all over" picture that was displayed in the 5th floor hallway at the art college...Chris pinned back the vellum so that people could read the words underneath. This picture has the following layers:

2 ply Bristol board
Negative thoughts written in various black marker sizes
Layer of charcoal, toned and fixed
Sheet of vellum glued on top
Positive thought written on the vellum with Prismacolor pink and purple markers
Layer of pink and purple oil pastel heards
Black craft feathers glued on top
Another sheet of vellum glued on top
Toned with charcoal, then feather shapes cut out with an eraser. Fixed.
Dripped black paint onto picture and beat viciously with a craft feather.

The piece gets its name from the odd chicken shape that appeared during the beating and the implied violence.
