This is a collection of some of the more heavily rendered pieces I've done for my own chapter covers, print covers, or just a few I thought looked nice and complete. These are what you'd be getting if you commissioned a book cover from me (possibly +text, but I post only the text-free covers on my DA). I charge twenty dollars an hour for artwork. For just a background painting, no characters, I charge around 50 dollars. For each individual character added expect the price to go up an extra 30-50 dollars depending on complexity. The Between Places Gabriel and Falahil cover would've been around 200 dollars if done for a commission. After the Storm would've been 100, and since the Fate cover was quicker with a less rendered background, probably only 50. The average quote I give for a cover design is 100 dollars. I expect half upfront for payment; I prefer Paypal but I'm certainly willing to take other options and if you have a product I'm a sucker for steampunk, shiny things, and handmade cosmetics. The process will go something like this: You pay half of the quoted price. Unless it's a speedpaint I'll sketch you out a few rough demo covers based on your concept. If you like one, great! If not, I'll do a few more. I'll send you a work in progress part of the way through the details. Depending on how long of a progress you might get a few WIPs to check out, and make any changes. If I'm doing your typography, once you're happy with the final image, we'll put the type into place. Once that's done, you pay the rest and I'll get you the full resolution image.
