I just read a news article about a man who, during lockdown, became so lonely and isolated he started talking to his furniture. That sounds like a comedic topic, right? It got me thinking about a few things. When I first went full-time as an artist and started working from home around 4 years ago, I was lonely during the day. My wife went out to her office job and I sat and worked. I'm very much an introvert and the thought of being alone and left to draw comics all day sounded like a dream come true! It is, and was, in many ways. As time went on, I started to get more and more lonely during the day time. A patron suggested I start a discord which helped immensely! Now we have a community of friends who hang out, chat and support each other. Sounds all a bit Disney, but its true. During this insane year we're all living through, I've made the effort to stream as much as possible and it's been fantastic. I've gotten to know new people and had existing friendships deepen and grow.
