So... Just trying to finish up some drawings that I seriously need to finish because I'm like totally super behind.
Because it's just sooooo odd for me to be, you know, super behind.
(Just incase you didn't know, I was being super sarcastic thar.)
Anyway, so my pal
and I decided to do another art trade; Our first trade was a ACEO trading card trade, but this time we decided to do a full character trade!
It was a lot of fun! This time
let me choose what character of hers she wanted drawn, and in the end I decided that she draw my Elijah!
BUT GUESS WHAT ZOMG????? SHE WAS THE FIRST ONE EVORZ TO DRAW ELIJAH!!!! ZOMG YOU NEED TO GO SEE IT RIGHT NOW FOR REALS OR ELSE IMMA GONNA -.. Well I dunno what I'll do, but YOU BETTER GO NOW. *stares at you until you go* [link]
Anyway, so we had a theme this time once again - our last theme was Rammstein, and this next theme was....IRISH!
Now this was super fun for me because I LOVE Irish things - I dunno what it is about it. I've never been to Ireland, and I'm not of Irish descent, but I just remember a friend and I did a project a while back, I think in grade 10, for history class, and we did celtic mythology. It was just so... so cool. She really got me into all that stuff. I just love seeing pictures of Ireland and things and it just looks so beautiful. I love the castles, the hills, THE GREEN!!, leprachauns and fairies and tales of ghosts and spirits and things... Theres just something so romantic about it all. Oh, and did I mention the accents?
Just awesome accents! It's like butter in my ears! (I think every accent is butter in my ears, seriously lol!) And I totally dig that commercial for Ireland with that Cranberries song. I dunno, Ireland just reminds me of all kinds of fun stuff. So this was a lot of fun for me, altho I admit I wasn't really too sure what I should draw.
So out of the characters that were given, I thought I'd try my hand at Sybila! Now, I suck at drawing dragons. I really, really, really do. I tend to have to cutify creatures like dragons or pretty much anything that's supposed to be scary looking - well atleast that's how they always turn out anyway.
, however, is ACE! at drawing dragons. So... Sybila here looks pretty cutesy, but I had fun drawing her anyway. And of course, I always feel compelled to draw beasts and the like looking confused or stunned (I have NO idea why I do, but for some reason they always have that same kinda expression.) so hence her expression. But anyway, she was a lot of fun to draw, altho after finishing this one, I totally realized I forgot her horns (which annoys me emmensely, because I would of had a field day drawing those horns!) and I drew the wings wrong (I see she has a bit of a new design now), but MAN I love drawing wings! Especially big feathered wings! So I had a lot of fun drawing those especially! I wanted to put a leprechaun somewhere in the picture, but didn't know where... So I just propped him up on her tail since it looked like initially she was looking at something, and I guess she has a little leprechaun friend! Perhaps he needs her help in lookin' for his pot o' gold (or Lucky Charms, or whatever leprechauns are up to these days.) He didn't turn out quite how I had wanted, but I think he's cute anyway. I couldn't fit his legs anywhere so I guess they are floating magically around (what? He's a leprechaun. They do that kinda stuff all the time. XD)
Anyway, I'm not too sure what's up with her leg there, the one that is not facing you. I was having a lot of trouble trying to work it out (even tho I never usually do when I'm drawing animals sitting down in that same fashion.) so...I dunno. I'm sure it doesn't look right at all, but it actually doesn't annoy me as much as it usually would. XD
The background is done with good ol' palette watercolours! I felt compelled to get regular I'm-in-grade-school! watercolours the other day, because I wanted a different way to do watercolours for my backgrounds. So I went over to Toys R' Us and bought some trusty Crayola watercolours - I LOVE them! To add more green to the picture, I just used different shades. I was kinda worried that it would look really bad, because initially I was using some dark colours that I didn't think would colour nicely together but it ended up pretty light and airy (for lack of any better use of a description to describe the end result of the background.) I just LOVE how the background came out. The paper that I have right now.... Watercolours LOVE it, I tells ya. I wasn't too impressed with the paper when I first got it (it was too thin) but now that I have it, well.. I'm pretty happy with it.
And once again, please forgive the scan. My scanner was having yet ANOTHER off day (which is has, well, everyday.) and this time scanned everything I finished grainy as almighty Hell. It actually didn't destroy the colours too much (except for it butchering the black parts and the inking.) but UGHHHHHH my god is this one grainy. I'll have to wait til my scanner isn't on it's period and maybe rescan this one in.
When you all get the time, PLEASE go check out
's gallery! Her stuff is just so wonderful - the use of all kinds of mediums makes me SUPER EXCITED and theres all kinds of unique things in her gallery! If you don't go, I WILL send Basement Cat out to get you.
And you don't want Basement Cat coming after you.
He'll bring Basement Chuck Norris.
So yes, Sybila!
I hope you likes it, even tho I completely messed up like everything! It was super fun to draw!
And now to finish more things I seriously need to finish.... *rushes off like Slothman - you know, the really...um...slow...and like...Jesslike superhero.*
