It's a wonder what some paint can do. Latest addition to my pirate costume. Its a bubble gun that lights up (lights still show through the paint) which I spray painted copper, then added detailing to it in gold, red and blue, then aged with watered down black and finally some moss green and aqua paint to make it look oxidized. I'm probably still not done, might add little touches here and there over the next few days.

6/26/16 Update:
Thanks to everyone who faved this because of DA's feature on their Facebook page! There are more guns like this in my Etsy store for anyone interested! www.etsy.com/shop/TheRustyDuck…

This is incredible! I can imagine it being in something similar to that of Jules Verne's 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. The colours accompanied by wonderful textures that blend together both vibrancy and an amazing rusty aesthetic work beautifully together. This piece is truly inspiring!

Thank you so much for the inspiration!

I admired this piece for years now and always thought it would be a perfect look for the 228 Harpoon Steam-pistol of Ms. Aetherton's Navy Dress arsenal-best.deviantart.com/ar…

Now I finally got around to finish that pistol and wanted to thank you for your undenyable creative influence.

Amazing patina work. Other than a little extra scrolling and the rivets on the bottle, it looks like the paint carries it all.  I stand in awe.
