Blackadder 5 Ep2: Abdication Announcement
The King was moving and gesturing around his sitting room as he talked animatedly to Wallis Simpson, who was sitting on the sofa in fits of laughter.
'And then,' the King was saying, 'Fruity said to this chap on the elephant, “Well, that explains how she keeps her back clean, but what I really wanted to know was where I can put my luggage”!'
Wallis laughed heartily, then leaned forward and held out her hands to the King, who came and took them in both of his and gazed soppily into her eyes.
'Oh, I do hope Fruity will say yes,' he said. 'I can't think of anybody I'd rather have as best man.'
'Of course he'll say yes, you silly English muffin,' said Wallis. 'He's your best friend, isn't he?'
'Well, yes,' said the King, 'but what worries me the most is whether he'll get my letter. Quite a bit of post seems to go astray these days. I get Blackadder to dash off a letter and post it, and three weeks later, nothing!'
