Description
Mark Thiessen and the other two photographers for the "National Geographic Expeditions: On Assignment-- Santa Fe" trip met us on Wednesday morning, chose five each from Tuesday, talked with us about composition, lighting arrangements, and agreements we had to sign about not selling any photographs that show visually distinctive elements of Eaves' Movie Ranch and Ghost Ranch. On Thursday, they turned us loose on Ghost Ranch, taking some of us to a box canyon, some of us to a set of badlands, and some of us right up to Chimney Rock. The assignment was "landscape."
This was the second of the five the photographers chose from my 20 best efforts.
(This is, quite obviously, Chimney Rock. I actually did climb right up the bluff that's next to it, off-frame. Only six of us managed that.)

Is the scenery in New Mexico not just amazing? Granted, most of the NM portion of my trip was spent in Albuquerque.
The rock formations down there are awesome. I wish I got see this one-more reasons that I want to go back out west, so much to see.
(Also, how the heck did I forget you had a dA account?)
